Hello! Hope you’ve had a great day.
I remember the first time I bought a pair of premium denim jeans. I was in high school and my Aunt Laura was visiting… she always loved to treat us. Until then, all of my jeans were fairly straightforward and inexpensive (under $40, I’d say). That special day though, she bought me a pair of Paper Denim & Cloth jeans (not sure the brand even exists anymore), and they fit me like a glove. I had no idea denim could feel so great, be flattering and also cost so much (probably $75 at the time).
After that day, I never looked back. I wore those jeans until they were literally in shreds, and every pair of jeans I’ve tried on since has been set to that same standard.
As silly as it sounds, the past decade (plus) has introduced incredible denim into the market that’s been worthy of comparison and critique. Jeans can be so expensive, but I’m on a constant journey to find the best fit for the best price. As a tall woman with curves, finding that perfect pair can be hard.
I was recently introduced to the new Jennifer Hudson Soho Denim Collection by New York & Company. Don’t these jeans look awesome? They’re contoured, cut for a woman’s figure, the denim is so comfortable, easy to wear, and (hallelujah!) the regular inseam is long enough. They are priced under $65, which for distressed denim is an absolute steal. They remind me of that very first pair of premium jeans I got back in high school… I wore that pair until they had rips in the knees, just like this pair of jeans. That’s when they were my favorite.
Be sure to check out the Soho Denim Collection. A majority of their jeans are made in petite, regular and tall sizes, too. NY&Co’s spring collection is fabulous in general, loving my chambray tunic and effortless of-the-shoulder striped blouse.
