Happy Friday! If you missed our announcement on Instagram, you’re probably noticing now – our website is new! We recently made the switch to WordPress from Squarespace. The transition has been in the works for a few months now and despite a couple of hiccups, things went smoothly. We hired a developer to help customize a template, but we did the majority of the legwork on our own. If you’re thinking about making the switch, know it’s possible and worthwhile! Leave any questions in the comments and we’ll get to them asap!
Today includes a roundup up of recently tested beauty products!
Marula Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and Hairspray: The smell of these products sold me immediately – the scent is amazing. This line does a great job of taming unruly hair. My hair is coarse and frizzy, but the shampoo/conditioner combo kept frizz at bay without weighing my hair down. As you know, I judge shampoos by how many days I can go without washing my hair (max is 4 days + great dry shampoo). I was able to go 3 with this combo.
Tria Hair Removal Laser: The reviews online about this product are pretty amazing – that it works to remove unwanted hair. I’m still on the fence because it hurts a LOT. The treatment area is very small, so you’re zapping yourself 50 or 60 times for a fairly small area and it’s unpleasant. If you have a high threshold for pain, you may do better than me! I’ve only completed two rounds so I haven’t had a chance to see results yet.
Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask: I have been wanting to try a new clay mask, and this one from Fresh fit the bill. It’s silky as you apply it, but quickly hardens as it dries. Don’t expect to do much after it sets because you won’t be able to move your face! After about 5 minutes I removed the mask and my skin felt awesome — really refreshed and clean. The mask doubles as a cleanser (which I am going to try).
Lancome Bi-Facil Makeup Remover: No exaggeration, this is the best makeup remover on the planet. Removes quickly, no burning or sensitivity and leaves no oily residue.
Creed Perfume: Creed makes some unbelievable scents. They’re so unique and discernible! This ‘acqua fiorentina’ is my favorite, lots of apple and lemon scents… I get compliments every time I wear it.
StriVectin Hair Vibrancy Booster and UV Protective Spray: The vibrancy booster reminds me of what it’s like after a hair treatment at the salon. I use this when my hair is feeling parched and dry, and it really gives it a moisture boost. The UV spray is unique – we are concerned about concealing our skin from UV rays, but what about our hair? This product helps protect your strands and it’s also a fabulous detangler.
Elta MD SPF: A great tinted, non-greasy SPF for your face. I wear this under my primer and it absorbs very quickly. On the weekends, I’ll often put this on instead of foundation (has enough tint to cover small blemishes).
Kerastase Solid Serum: Kerastase has never made a poor product, I swear! I love this solid serum – I use it after I finish styling my hair, applying it to the ends to tame any frizz. It absorbs really quickly and helps moisturize, too. The small jar goes a long way and it smalls amazing.
Hope you enjoyed this post, have an amazing weekend!
