When you find a pair of jeans that just fit, you never want to take them off. I have more pair of jeans than I can count, honestly. I try to purge them whenever I can to save space in my closet, but there are a few pairs that I just can’t throw away.
Buying a pair of jeans comes with a few different factors: fit, wash, length, and feel. Fit and feel can depend on the brand and even the person wearing them, but I tend to lean towards a high rise fit with a softer feel. I remember the days in high school when the low rise was the only thing in my closet and I though everyone was crazy when the high waisted cut came back into trend. You won’t find many of those left these days. In my opinion, I find the high rise to be a cut that is not only more comfortable, but also extremely flattering regardless of body type. When paired with a softer denim, they are like pajamas you can actually wear in public!
Wash will come and go with the styles but everyone should have at least one pair of well fitted dark wash denim. Not only is it a flattering color, but can be worn out for a more dressed up look when paired with heels. Finally the length of a pair of jeans is one of the most important factors for me. Probably because of my height (5’10”), but the longer the jean, the better! If you are shopping for a skinny cut, I always try to find a pair that will be at least to my ankle, if not longer. If jeans don’t come in a ‘long’, you can sometimes get away with a regular cut if they have a longer inseam, but if you are tall like me, if they come in a long, you know they will be in my closet.
This pair of jeans by Mott and Bow is now one of my favorites. I have worn them twice since receiving them and they are quickly growing to become my go-to pair. The length is almost perfect and I love that the rise is higher than normal so they can be worn with shorter cropped blouses. I love the dark wash and could not be more pleased with the softness of the denim. Trust me, I am very picky about my jeans, so I was pleasantly surprised when I put these on for the first time.
Do you have a favorite pair of jeans that you just never want to take off? Let me know and I’d love to try them out!
