Friends are some of the most important people in your life. Recently, I was reminded how amazing my girlfriends are and how lucky I am to have them. Growing up, I had girlfriends, but many of my friends were guys. My best friend of all time, Sarah, is one of the few people I still see regularly from high school and I am so blessed to have her. In college, things weren’t that different, my best friends were guys and then when I graduated, some of my best friends came into my life.
Our group of girls, 4 of us originally, try to get together at least once a month for a girls brunch or dinner. This past weekend, we finally had our long overdue girls brunch and then went to see Fifty Shades Darker. Our two hour brunch put a smile on my face from the moment I saw them. It truly made me realize how lucky I am to have such genuine people in my life. We are not friends for the connections we have, the money or possessions or even status quo. We are friends because we truly enjoy each other’s company, even when it is during tough times. We support one another unconditionally and will never be upset if one of us can’t make it to drinks or out for a night on the town. For when we are able to get together, it is like no time has passed.
Lately, I’ve been needing to lean on these girls more than normal and I am so thankful that I am able to do so. Do you have any traditions with your friends? I’d love to know!
I thought it was supposed to be spring by now, but it’s starting to get cold again so unfortunately I won’t be wearing this top again anytime soon. In the meantime, I’ll wear it in my house while I daydream of warmer temps.
