These days it seems like I am going nonstop, but I won't say I am unhappy about it. Things are definitely starting to change in my life and I am excited that I have the opportunity to move in a different direction. I think it time for some shakeups and there is no time like the present.
I've notice recently that I gravitate to lighter colors in my wardrobe, which is a completely shift from where my closet used to be. For years, everything i wore was in the darker black and grey palette. It was abnormal for me to wear anything with color (still not completely false), but wearing a lighter shade was not something I normally did. Over the years, you have probably noticed as well that I tend to wear for subtle colors, but have started to change my tone and am now wearing lighter colors.
Fashion has always been a way for me to express my emotions, just through my dress. I think colors have a large part to do with that. But when I look at my closet now and several of my recent purchases, I have been leaning towards a lot of white and cream colored dresses. Even at the Nordstrom sale, I found myself purchasing lighter colors for fall.
Well this post is an exception to my new norm because I think with everything that you have in light colors, you should be able to contrast with something darker. Now with this dress in particular, I have in both white and black. Why you ask? Because I am that obsessed with the cut and eyelet pattern. When I first bought this dress in white, I thought I'd wear it on occasion throughout the summer, but it has totally turned into a staple of mine. So, when I found it in black (and on sale), I knew it needed to be purchased.
There is no reason to have the same piece in multiple colors, but I don't discourage it if it is a piece that you know you will wear on a regular basis.Things like t-shirt dresses are hard to come by when you want something that is more than plain. This on in particular seems to check all of the boxes for me!
Do you have pieces that you own in more than one color? I'd love to hear! Thank you as always for reading!
