I haven’t been the best at posting regularly and my fault! Life has been a little crazy lately, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon, but with good things so I can’t really complain. Other the weekend, I went to Nebraska with some of my best friends and watched the eclipse! It was definitely something that I am glad I took time off of work to go see, even though it’ll be back in the next 30 years. Regardless, it was nice to get out of town for the weekend and kind of unplug from everything.
I realized though that when I was packing, I didn’t bring one pair of jeans. Given that I was going to be out on a boat and four-wheeler most of the weekend so there was no need for them, but it was the first time in a while that I instead reached for a pair of linen trousers. I’ve said before that I have probably more jeans than I wear on a regular basis, but have started to realize that the world does not need to just revolve around denim. A good pair of trousers can not only be flattering, but also dress up a look significantly. Depending on the occasion, they are perfect with a pair of pumps, like I paired them with here and a leather.
When you are shopping for linen trousers, it’s important to pay attention to the cut and how they hit you around the hips. Being tall, I generally struggle with them being either too low in the waist and snug around the hips, or too loose so the seem to sag in places that aren’t flattering. These ones are a good mix because they have the fabulous ruffle at the waist. The beauty of a cut like this is they are flatting on most body types and draw the eye up while still staying slim down the leg. I’ve linked a couple of other pairs that are just as flattering!
What are your thoughts on trousers as we head into fall? Do you have another denim alternative? Thank you as always for reading!
